This two-day course will be packed with tips and techniques that Joe Glyda has been using in the commercial field of photography for years.  You will have the opportunity to get hands on in this learning process, working directly with the products in both photographing and post production work. This class will inspire your creativity and provide you with a new set of tools to approach your every day challenges and goals in this industry.

DAY ONE -
I. The Business of Commercial Photography: We will be discussing and covering topics ranging from working with art directors and agencies, layouts, food stylists, prop stylists, workflow and post production to better business practices such as estimates, invoicing, copyright registering of your images and meeting the expectations of the client.

II. Product Photography: Lighting techniques for difficult surfaces such as metal and glass; learning proper angles for products; photographing multiple items and then combining them in post-production; and painting with light.

DAY TWO - Will consist of an In-Depth Look at Food Photography: We will be working with food from breads to burgers, sauces and soups. Various lighting situations for different environments, accuracy of food and background color, correct relationships with props, creating special effects not using Photoshop, and various tips and techniques used by food stylists across this industry.

Joe Bio websiteJoe Glyda is a recognized commercial photographer specializing in food and product photography. Joe retired from Kraft Foods as the manager and primary photographer of their Creative Services department in Glenview, IL after 36 years. He continues his photographic career through Joe Glyda Photography, Inc. of which he established in 1988. He currently lives in Jenks, OK, and has expanded his business into architectural and aviation photographic projects as well as pre press retouching for various companies.

He has been a photographic instructor at the Texas School of Professional Photography since 1995 and has been teaching on the NAPP instructor team since 2001. Joe is a PPA Master Photographer and Photographic Craftsman, and is a Certified Professional Photographer.
